Authenticity vs AI
Everyone’s either raving about or slating AI.
And for good reason. AI has the potential to be an empowering tool, accelerating human potential and supporting our vision of the future. But like with anything in life, too much in excess can be a bad thing, especially when it comes to replacing true creative talent.
I’ve been a professional writer for 18 years. I’ve completed over 700 copywriting jobs and I wake up every day grateful for the fact that I can create a living out of what I love doing - creative writing. Before that, I was also a writer. Since I was 9 years old, I’ve been writing fiction and poetry, it’s simply in my DNA to create.
Some people are terrified AI will steal their copywriting job, but I haven’t been distracted once.
So why am I so fearless?
Firstly, I know my worth, and I know the right client does too.
My formula for writing award-winning copy is something you can’t clone with a machine. I mix originality and empathy and true cut-through, and create campaign ideas and concepts, that I roll out across every digital touchpoint. A lot of my bigger jobs are brand identity work, where I create an entire verbal identity for a client - from their name, to their strapline, manifesto and tone of voice guide. All of that requires a precise approach and insightful understanding, mixed with a creative flair to flow words together so that they appeal to the right audience, at the right time.
It’s a craft and an art form that can’t be robo replica’d.
